Capturing Magical Childhood Experiences

If you have been a parent for any amount of time, you know that one thing is for certain:  our babies just don't stay little for long enough. They hit milestones, grow and change literally right in front of our eyes. The childhood wonder they experience is so fleeting.

If you are anything like me (because I am a mom to 2 babies even though they really aren't actual babies anymore), you are trying to see the world through their eyes, soak it in while it lasts, and have some way of capturing that so you can hold onto it for forever.

By now I'm sure pretty much everyone has heard of "Mini Sessions" as most photographers offer them these days.

Not to be too obvious, but Mini Sessions are just that - shorter versions of a regular photo session, usually have a theme of some sort, and take place on a pre-determined day with multiple sessions scheduled back to back.

And while that's true for us as well, they're also a lot more than that!

With our Mini Sessions, we aim to create not just a quick photo op, but an actual experience for your family - a memorable event that your kids will talk about for years to come!

Our approach to Mini Sessions

I'm a big believer in memories > things. I'm that mom who will take a trip over a gift any day because I believe that the connection with my kids that an experience provides will last far longer than any toy I could buy that they'll play with for 3 days before it ends up in a basket in the playroom, long forgotten.

And I guess this belief has trickled into my business as well!

I have kids come into the studio year round asking about Snickers (the first live bunny we ever used for Easter sessions years ago!) They still remember him and ask if he's around. Seeing kids light up when they meet Santa or transform into their favorite princess or superhero is priceless and a memory I know they will cherish forever. My own kiddos constantly talk about "that time we met a unicorn," and "remember when we met a REAL LIVE reindeer?!"

And bonus, I have amazing photos of my kids hanging on my walls from all of these fun experiences! I want you to have that, too! I am so honored to be able to provide these magical experiences for not just my children, but your family as well.

Experiences

How it started...

What started out just for fun, taking holiday themed photos of my first baby in my basement studio, has grown into a full service photography studio with highly anticipated themed mini sessions nearly every month.

I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would have my own studio or that people would be interested in doing my holiday pictures with their own kiddos... and I about had an anxiety attack the first time I had clients coming over for a session! Ha! But I am so so grateful for where that first little basement session has led me!

Our first "Holiday Mini" in our basement studio. 2016.

We now host Mini Session Events quarterly throughout the year, with Session Experiences nearly every single month! Sessions typically sell out and end up with a wait list.

We offer everything from studio quick-take sessions to larger session experiences, often with live animals. The "OG" Holiday Minis include Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July, and Christmas. Studio setups are always an option, but we have also expanded these into experience sessions.

Beyond the holidays, we have several other sessions planned throughout the year, including but not limited to: Unicorns, Mommy & Me, Summer Creek, Fall Truck, Sunflowers, Christmas Tree Farm, Glitter, & more!

We offer classic and timeless editing so your artwork will stand the test of time, but also add our special whimsical touches ("magic editing!") when applicable to give your photos that extra special touch and make them standout from the rest! All at no additional charge :)
